Dorm life can be a ton of fun. It can be the perfect place to make new friends. While living in a dorm, one encounters plenty of new people and has the opportunity to pick up new skills. For instance, learning a new language or learning to enjoy and participate in a new culture.
If you need assistance or help with school, creating a study group is easy. Or if you just want to hang out and chill, dorm life makes it easy. In some ways, dorm life feels like living together with a large family. One will develop respect for each and every unique dorm-mate.
Our dorms are perfect to meet new people and make friends for a lifetime. Our tutors organize a lot of events every week.

Questions about the tenancy agreement (5)
We are legally bound to restrict the tenancy contract. The longest period of tenancy is 4 years. Of course, you can move out earlier if you follow up on the minimum stay and the period of notice.
- the minimum stay of 11 months will be reached on the 28th of February, 2023
- the 2 months restriction will end on the 31st of December, 2022.
Your payment is due on the 5th of each month. If you agreed to the SEPA credit transfer, then we would collect the rent every 12th of each month.
You will find it in the enclosure of your tenancy agreement. As soon as the contract is signed by us you can register at the citizen center.
Please wait until you moved into your room. Sometimes your house or room number can change at short notice.
To fulfill your registration soon, we recommend you make an appointment in the citizen center as soon as possible. You can book an appointment here.
The nearest citizen center in Schlachtensee:
Bezirksamt Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Kirchstraße 1/3, 14163 Berlin (Bus 118, Haltestelle „Rathaus Zehlendorf“)
The nearest citizen center in Adlershof:
Bürgeramt 1 Treptow-Köpenick, Rudower Chaussee 6, 12489 Berlin (Tram 63 or 67, Haltestelle „Walter-Nernst-Straße“)
In principle, our dorm tenancy agreements are restricted to a maximum of 4 years. Shorter restrictions are only possible in the case of (re-)constructions.
Questions about moving in and out (7)
You will get the return of your security deposit between 6 to 12 weeks after the end of your contract, depending on the booking period of the bank. As soon as we receive your dismissal, you will get a request to update your bank details in our online portal.
You can pay it with your Giro or credit card. On safety grounds, we cannot accept cash.
Of course! You can leave the dorm whenever you want. But you have to pay the rent until the end of your contract. Please remember to resign from the contract at the due date.
Please leave your room clean and ready for the move-in of the next person.
Moving out and giving us the keys must be done by 10 am on the last day of your contract.
Please give us your keys and we will do the room check by ourselves. You can trust us. If we find any damage in your room, we will take pictures, which we can send you if you ask for it. Here you can find a list with the corresponding damage costs and their effects on the security deposit.
You can move in Monday until Friday between 1 pm and 4:30 pm. Please remember that our administration office is closed on weekends and holidays.
Please find an accommodation if you arrive before the move-in day. The contracts last until the last day of a month and we want to prepare the room for you, therefore you can’t move in earlier.
- ID card/passport
- Certificate of enrolment
The move-in will be faster if you bring the completed form with your core data, which you receive via email in advance.
