Financial aid for students in times of Corona-crisis
From May 8th 2020 students who suffer financial hardship due to the Corona-crisis can get a credit that will be interest-free during a starting phase until March 31st 2021 from the KfW, the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (Germany’s central agency for reconstruction and loans).
During this starting phase the loan will be granted to foreign students, too.
You can apply for the interest-free loan on the KfW-website.
In addition the German Ministry of Education will give 100 Million Euros to the German Studierendenwerk for their local emergency funds.
From May 8th 2008 you also can apply for financial help at Studierendenwerk Berlin again. (The Studierendenwerk kindly asks you not to apply earlier because they are not able to process applications or documents that are sent in before May 8th)
